Digiteam Academy’s Game Design courses teach students the fundamentals of coding and game development using hands-on, project-based lessons that keep students engaged and having fun while teaching problem solving and adaptability.

Scratch 1
Level: Beginner
Learn the fundamentals of Game Design using the MIT Scratch game engine. Instructor will guide students in making a simple and fun arcade game.
Concepts: Scratch Interface, Loops, Conditionals
Games: Egg Catcher, Space Rescue, Cross the Street

Scratch 2
Level: Intermediate
Students will apply their skills and expand their knowledge of game design while creating a platforming adventure game or endless runner.
Concepts: Variables, Game Physics, Level Design

Scratch 3
Level: Advanced
Students with a great understanding of scratch will push the limits of the program by creating an intricate game with advanced mechanics.
Concepts: Game Systems, Game States, Animations

JavaScript 1
Level: Intermediate
In this course, students will learn how to use a new coding language and game engine using JavaScript in Microsoft Makecode Arcade. They will learn basic syntax and game functions to make a fun arcade game.
Concepts: Sprite Properties, Velocity, Loops

JavaScript 2
Level: Advanced
Students will expand their knowledge of JavaScript to create a game with an open world, AI characters, game states, puzzles, and objectives. They will practice adding creative game mechanics and debugging.
Concepts: Creating Functions, Conditional Statements, AI Behaviors

Java 1
Level: Intermediate
Learn how to code in Java using programs such as BlueJ and Android Studio. Students will make arcade games and expand their knowledge of syntax, classes, functions, and more.

Unity 1
Level: Advanced
Advanced students will learn how to code in C# and use Unity Game Engine to create complex games in a 3D environment. They will practice navigating the game engine interface, moving between scenes, scripting, and managing game objects and textures.

Game Design Workshop
Level: Advanced
Students will apply their skills and face new challenges while creating their own games in independent projects. Students will expand their creativity while learning problem solving and growing their game design knowledge.
